Cooper is so blessed to have Mrs. Steed as his Kindergarten teacher. She does a great job and Cooper loves her. Mrs. Steed has her class write a story nearly everyday about things going on in their lives. As for Cooper’s stories, we’re never quite sure what he’s going to write about. This was his paper from Monday (with her note of encouragement on it) …

For those who can’t read Cooper’s 6-year-old writing, let me tell you what it says… “On Friday this week I am going to Dallas to watch the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. And I am going to stay with Aunt Mel. They are cool. Yo Dog! I like to say, ‘Yo Dog!’”
Yo Dog? I’m not sure where he’s picked up “yo dog” from, but I’m thinking that he may be watching too much of Randy Jackson on American Idol.
Have a great day and may I be the first to say to you today, “Yo Dawg!”

i love it! only a parent and a kindergarten teacher can appreciate writing like that! I too love mrs. steed!

Dude, a future blogger!
That is great….I thought he is doing such a great job on his story and his picture….and it is so fun to hear the kids’ ideas and thoughts…thanks for sharing…steph
Too cute! It’s awesome that he has such wonderful and exciting things to share about his family experiences/adventures in his stories!! And the yo dawg is just too much!
I don’t know if my comment actually posted on yesterdays blog so I’ll just say it here; I would have found a new place to sleep for the rest of the night after an intruder was in my bed as well!
Gotta love it! I didn’t know the Rangers were playing the Cowboys this year???
Kids are so great!
My kids go thru phases of phrases. Right now, it is more sounds than words. The boys are always making up things to say…they keep me laughing every day.
Thanks for the smile! and YO DAWG…have a good weekend!
Trey – YO DAWG…Right Back at ya!
Cooper is a talented guy…looks like he has a lot of his mom in him.:)
I’m praying for your family get-away this weekend…have a BLAST!
Aw, Mrs. Steed IS awesome! She’s one of my favorites! Great story! I love writing, so this is right up my alley!
Cooper will always hold a special place in my heart. It has been a joy and privilege teaching him this year!

Hahah your son is quite the traveller
If he is watching Randy Jackson on AI then he might start describing things as ‘molten hot lava bombs’ next. Marlo
That is beautiful.
