WHITE MEN "CAN" JUMP

This is Parker, our six-foot six-inch 17 year old son. He is a junior at Childress High School and we are very proud of him. He loves playing basketball, hunting, fishing, camping and doing anything else that requires him being outdoors.
What Lea and I are the most proud about Parker are not the things listed above, but that Parker loves God and that he is a GREAT kid.

White guys can grow very tall too apparently.

    Go Parker, keep God #1!

  7. a cowgirl at heart says:

What I love about Parker is I know when I say he is a great kid, it applies to both in AND out of school. That is hard to do for many of our kiddos. I see him everyday, and I can attest that he is one of the most polite, well-mannered, and humble young men I’ve had the pleasure of having in my class. Well done, Lea and Trey!

  8. Angie says:

The picture made me want to relive my old “basketball coach” days and yell, “Get up!” Parker certainly did. Love it when a good athlete also loves God.

Parker has always been great, he’s special in all the ways I’ve known him. He still gives me hugs and kisses any time. I love him very much as well as your other kids and you and Lea.

That’s some vertical air right there! I spent 20 years wearing that black and white striped shirt … brought back some memories. I’ll just say this, when the girls first started playing by men’s rules, they were very gangly and uncoordinated for a jump ball. Male refs learned very quickly to protect themselves during a jump ball and until the possession arrow was introduced, girl’s basketball consisted mainly of jump balls! It was a dangerous place to be.

  15. Cornelius Crew says:

That’s great! Any advice or suggestions on raising boys? As mine get older I am constantly doubting myself as to how to parent and lead them to God. You certainly seem to be doing something right! Share! Share!

  16. TREY MORGAN says:

Mrs Cornelius – Are you kidding me? The second I say, “Here’s how you make great kids,” all mine will go off the deep end and do something CRAZY! :)

Honestly, mine are FAR from perfect, and I know the will make the same mistakes other kids make. You just hope you’re leading them in the right direction and I know you are your three :)

Sounds like a wonderful kid. Way to go , Parker!

    (Cool action shot, too!)

  18. L.C.T. says:

Best thing to be proud of! 6’6 is impressive. I’m 6’1, which is tall for a girl! Great action shot.

  • good list. Don't forget Nickelback, OJ, ISIS and beer-throwing Blue Jay fans.
  • He was pretty tough to listen to as well.
  • As crazy as it might sound, Chris Collinsworth just might be worse to listen to than the song Christmas Shoes.
  • Please remember that some Christmas music is incredibly offensive to people with grandmothers who actually were run over by reindeer.
  • Unfortunately, not a great night for "bobcats." :)
