WHAT I’M THINKING TODAY

  • GIVE AWAY: If you haven’t checked to see if you won a book from last week’s contest, then check the list and email me your address if you find your name there.

  • HIS NEEDS HER NEEDS (HNHN): Since about 20 HNHN’s books are going out, Lea and I have decided to go back and read that book together again. Our plan is to read a couple of chapters, underline the things we think are important and then go back and discuss those things we’ve underlined. My challenge to you? Ask your significant other to read the book with you, then highlight and discuss the things you read. You up for my challenge?
  • MY BLOG: I’m considering a move of this blog from blogger to its own domain. I’m uncomfortable with blogger being able to shut down my blog at anytime. A few months back, blogger flagged my “running blog” that I had as spam and shut it down. Four months later? Still no running blog. I’d hate to lose all the posts and comments here.
  • BLOGS YOU NEED TO BE READING: If you haven’t found Amanda Sanders blog, you’re missing out. It has become a “must stop” on my daily read of blogs. Also my brother, Bruce Baird is now blogging. Bruce is the preacher at the Central church in Tulia, Texas. Stop by and welcome Bruce to the blogging world.
  • DANCING WITH THE STARS: Confession time. I debated whether or not to even bring this up, but as they say, confession is good for the soul. I’m going to watch Dancing with the Stars with Lea this season. (Yes, go ahead and take my man card now!) I figure if she can learn to watch and like SportsCenter, baseball, football and NASCAR just to hang out with me, I can learn to like something too just to hang out with her. Maybe, just maybe, watching Dancing with the Stars with my wife doesn’t make me less of a man, but more of a man in her eyes! Then it’ll be worth it.

Dancing – I’m waiting a couple of weeks so they can cull the losers! It hurts to watch sometimes! I think my man will watch – ok, he may sleep but he’ll make it look like he’s watching!

  2. mqmaynard says:

Wish I could watch Dancing with the Stars, even if it was just by myself, but no can do, no cable or anything else. Although, I do have an idea floating around in my noggin. I am thinking of getting Dance Praise 2 the Remix. I can see a fun-filled future with the kids & better half. Dancing with the Maynard Stars!!!lol We be da judges too.
But don't tell anyone though, I am C of C, so shhhh.;)

  3. Stoogelover says:

Dancing with the Stars … I may have to re-think my opinion of you. Except that I have been known to watch it with my wife! We could start a club for men w/out mencards.

I would recommend you give theobloggers a try. Brad will help you set it all up and it’s designed for ministers and Christians. That I am part owner has absolutely nothing to do with this suggestion!

  4. Marci says:

So glad Bruce started blogging!! Ryan and I usually start watching Dancing towards the end of the season…I’m sure it will depend on how long the athletes last as to whether he makes it to the end of the season!!

  5. Ryan Mills says:

she’s right about that. once the athletes are eliminated, i’m done with dancing with the stars. but i do watch it for the same reasons you say you are going to. no need to take the “man card,” any man who won’t spend time with his wife over what’s on TV didn’t need one to begin with.

I think the move to your own domain is a great idea. I am an IT guy so naturally I started with my own domain and if you know how to set it all up it is the only way to go.

I am quite sure my wife will read the book with me. I think that is a great idea.

  7. The Waldrons says:

MJ and I love the Dancing also, so we can both have our man card removed together. We are looking forward to the class and the book. Thanks for the welcome Trey, we are excited.

  8. freetolive says:

Trey thanks for mentioning me. You rock!

  9. Fillmycup says:

I already told the hubby we had homework from my blog. Not sure if he will want to move to TX with me now!

  10. Bruce and Amanda Baird says:

Thanks for the welcome and sound byte. It was great to see Taylor. I hope The Olive Garden didn’t make him sick! It am sure it was a change from the Allsup gut bomb!

  11. Kyle Parker says:

At least you’ll get to see Warren Sapp on “Dancing”. I hear he’s actually pretty good and lots of fun.

  12. Kim says:

The Robinson’s will be joining the challenge to read His Needs Her Needs. It has been many years since I read this book so I am looking forward to going through it again.

  13. TREY MORGAN says:

Yea, Robinsons … glad you’re on board!
