Welcome to the New Trey Morgan.net

I am so excited!  I’m like a kid at Christmas. It took me a long time to come around, but now I’m officially on WordPress. It was tough to teach this old dog new tricks. I thought if Blogger was good enough for Paul and Silas, it had to be good enough for me. :)

There’s a lot of new things I’m excited about. I love the tabs at the top of the page that take you straight to my favorite categories like Church, Dads, Honduras, Marriage, Men, Morgan Family and Top Ten Lists. I also like the fact that my blogroll is not included as a tab in the top left corner of every page.  John Dobbs has got to be excited about this because he won’t have to do the “word verification” that Blogger always required. There are so many other things I’ll be tweaking over the next few days t00.

One of the main things I am excited about is the ability to reply to your comments after you leave me a comment. Under the blogger format, I’d just have to leave random comments down the page and hope you noticed them. If you leave a comment, and I hope you will, the first time it will have to be approved by WordPress, but never again after that.

Although, I like the “About Me” tab at the top of the page, it took me forever to come up with something to put there. And, a big thanks to my friend Ericka Moore for doing the picture for that page.

To celebrate the opening of my new blog I’m having a give away. My friend Deb suggested me giving Connor away, but as much as that kid eats, that wouldn’t be a prize but more of a liability. :) So I think a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card will be a great thing to give away.  All you have to do is leave me a comment, and in the next couple of days I’ll pick a number at random and give it away. And again, a big thanks to my friend Peter Pollock for designing my blog.

~Trey

PS – Oh by the way, did you see the really cool Twitter and Facebook buttons on the far right hand side of the screen? That is SO cool. Thanks for stopping by my new blog.

Wow! I’m impressed Trey. It’s about time you made the move over. I hate word verification so much that I seldom left a comment on your old blog! Now I can leave a comment with ease. Guess that means I’ll have to start reading your blog for real! ha! It looks great… I’m jealous of some of your bling here and may have to steal some of it! Enjoy WordPress…it’s a whole new world!

  16. Nice new look Trey and you will love WordPress. I switched some time ago so I could add more widgets and ‘stuff’. I will have to figure out the comment thingy though. I like that feature.

    • Hi,

Could you possibly tell me what reader you use? We’re trying to make sure that all rss readers continue to get the posts every day and it would be very helpful to know what’s not coming through.

      Many thanks

      Peter

    • Trey Morgan says:

I want you to know ~ I saw the title of your post yesterday, and OUT LOUD ~ said, “NO!!” I was thrilled to realize you were not leaving the blog-world.

Love how your ‘little, happy head” is next to every comment you make! That rocks! ~ Hats off to your tech-guro!

    • Trey Morgan says:

Maggie Beth … you are a sweetie. And you can refer to me from hence forward as “Mr. Fancy Pants.” LOL

I had to keep the top banner because it represents a lot, doesn’t it? And yes, I WAY over-do the smiley faces, but that’s just me. :) <——- just for you.

  45. Wendy says:

Trey, the only way your blog could have been improved was moving to wordpress. Congratulations!

  46. That Header image is the bane of my life at the moment.

For the last few weeks, whenever my daughter has seen it, she has yelled “BABY!” She loves the little man in the right hand box of the header. LOVES him. cries when I scroll away from him.

    EVERY TIME.

Building your blog was a long process of “BABY”, little bit of work, “BABY”, little bit of work, “BABY!”

    • Trey Morgan says:

Peter, cool story. We have a little boy at church that everyone thinks that is him. The photo was actually one I purchased, but I have so many people ask, “Is that Major?” that I hated to remove it.

  47. Amber Green says:

the site looks great! you need a ticker at the bottom to see how many million people view your page!

  48. Lee Barlow says:

Like the new page…thx for the update.

  49. Jojo Agot says:

Wow Trey, this is so great. Welcome to WordPress. Your transfer is long overdue already.
