Update: The Augment Project (Extreme Home Makeover)

I’m leaving for Honduras tomorrow, but before I go I wanted to give you an update on our Extreme Home Makeover project that we’re calling the “Augment Project.” We’ve made great progress on the house so far. When we started we were hoping to be done by spring, but everyone has kicked in and we’re probably about a month or so away from being done. Yesterday there was a home-tour in the Childress community, and the Augment House was invited to be on it. So everyone worked REALLY hard the past two weeks to get as much done as possible. On the inside, we still have the bathroom, kitchen and floors to finish. On the outside we still have the siding, painting, and porch to finish.

Here are a few “before” and “during” pictures. Hopefully in about a month, we’ll post the “after” pictures.

The front of the house at the beginning.

The front now ... waiting to be painted.

The back of the house at the beginning. I remember taking this picture and thinking to myself, "What are we getting ourselves into?"

The back of the house now (still hasn't been painted).

Looking towards the front door when we began.

(Taken at the Home Tour) Inside the house looking towards the front door. The TV scrolled through pictures of the project.

Looking towards the dining room. Next time you see those floors they'll be refinished.

The Augment Team: Randy, Amber, John, myself... plus a couple hundred other people from the community that's worked on this project. (I wish I could picture and name everyone who has helped on this project, but I would surely leave someone out. It has truly been a community project.)

Well done, you good and faithful servants. I could do with some help fixing my home, although it has to be said, mine is nowhere near the need for renovation as the one you’ve been working on. I’m proud of my brothers (and sisters) In Christ for their love, dedication and workmanship – nothing to be ashamed of there.
