We’ve taken “1st Day of School” pictures every year since Taylor started kindergarten 15 years ago. Parker begins his senior year today, Connor starts 8th grade, Cooper will begin 2nd grade, and I realize they’re growing up SO fast.
With another school year, Lea & I are reminded that time doesn’t stand still. Our children are growing up… quickly. Just yesterday they were all babies, today they’re growing boys and tomorrow we’ll wish they’d come back and visit more often.
If you still have children at home, enjoy them while you have them because it doesn’t last long.
Psalm 127:3-5, “Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”

"Don't blink!"

No kidding! I been MIA from the streets for about 2 years. I just recently reconnected with several of my kids and I am blown away!!! "Fast…" is and understatement.
Son headed out to Palm Beach Atlantic U tomorrow. Yes, don't blink.
handsome bunch!
and so looking like they are ready to go back to school!
SO true! I try to treasure every minute with them! I've made sure that all my "work" with the house is done when they get home so I can give them my attention! Children are such blessings!!
Ha…we take pictures the first day, too. I was just about to post on my blog and thought I would read yours first. This mom is feeling really old and worried about the time that is slipping right through her fingers!
Saw Lea volunteering in Coop's class and have to admit I was a little jealous. As a mother, I would love to help in Guthri's class. As a teacher, I would love to have a parent volunteer!!!!
Sandi – yours were just kids yesterday. I still remember trips with Shalane and building legos with jason.
Agent X – I've been curious how that ministry was going.
cwinwc – I've missed visiting with you this summer. You're a good dad and you've done a good job.
Jel – Thanks
Dixie – You are a great mom. I love your blog. Today's was awesome.
Kim Jenschke – Next year you might get Cooper, and therefore get Lea too
She is a sweetie. Garrett has shot up about 6 feet this summer.
Love the pictures of your handsome crew! You're certainly right – time flies so quickly! It seems just yesterday I was walking a little boy to Kindergarten and now he's all grown up. I'm learning to make the most of the time we have – it is gone too soon.
Just the other day we were taking those pictures. Today we are grandparents. You have some good lookin' boys.
I can remember our first day of school, the picture included the box. Did ya'll have boxs?
Love, love, love the pictures! Thanks for sharing… only 179 more days of school left! Hang on tight! LOL!
I have your sweet Connor in my language arts class. I am looking forward to getting to know him better!
Kids may leave home, but never travel far from the heart.
Friday our oldest moved into his dorm. His mom was already complaining last night that he had not called.
Peace,
Ray
Oh my goodness, they are good lookin' ones! Yes, aye, going through the same thought process. Constantly reevaluating my priorities and methods, praying over them especially. They are HIS, but they're hard to let go.
