When you think of who might have been the most evil person in history? These names come to mind…
Jesus? Yes, how could he not be? Think about it for a second. Amazingly it was at the cross that Jesus absorbed upon himself, like a sponge, all the sins that had ever been committed. At the cross Jesus took on himself all the sins of the past, present and even future sins that were to be committed. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says that on the cross Jesus actually …”became sin.” He became sin on the cross. He became everything that was dark, everything that was ugly and everything that was evil. When Jesus became sin, he became the very thing he despised, and he became what he hated. It was at that point in history that Jesus became (I don’t like to say it, and I don’t even like to even type it) but Jesus became all that was evil.
Why would Jesus be willing to do this? Why would Jesus be willing to absorb all your sins and my sins there on the cross? The same verse that tells us that … “He became sin,” also tells us why he became sin … “So that we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus became sin for us. He became what he hated for us. He became sin to make us right with God.
Does that just not ooze with amazing and incomprehensible love? Thank you Jesus!
So the next time you hear the question, “Who are some of the most evil people ever?” I’m not suggesting you holler out, “Jesus Christ,” but I am suggesting you constantly remember exactly what he was willing to do for you.
Now, if you’d all join me, I’d like to lead us all in the greatest song ever written. Sing with me, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so…”

AMEN! And Preach on!

Now THAT’s certainly food for thought.
I loved that you suggested not to yell out Jesus Christ, that made me laugh out loud.
I loved this article, it touched my heart.
I had never thought about it the way you just had. Jesus did in fact take all of our sins, our burdens, everything that Satan pushes into our lives and more.
Jesus became evil for everyone, even those who refuse to believe it.
How amazing is that?
Jesus took on all the sins of the world and now he reigns in heaven. That means, ALL of those sins had to be forgiven. If God can do that, what does that say about our sins that we may believe are insurmountable?
Adam – thanks for hanging out here today. It is amazing. Really too amazing for words.
David – How are you brother? You are exactly right, I wish we didn’t feel like our sins were to big for God, but we often do.
Trey as always I am blessed by reading your blog. Thanks.
You know the Hendersons are coming in a few weeks, see if you could just tag along with them!! Or just catch a ride with the AIMers the following week. Nothing like a 24 hour bus ride, except the 24 hour return ride! You are always welcome.
Some want to say he is still evil today. I have a real problem with that.
He did take a heavy load.
Wow what a huge slap in the face! Our religious spirit often sees Jesus as the opposite! Never would I have thought about Christ being on my “most evil” list- but it is true.. He became sin! Sin? are you kidding me… He became everything we people are in bondage to. HOW INCREDIBLE…
Trey once again you have managed to make me think. So Jesus would top both the most Evil and the most Good.
hmm so would you say that Jesus was the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
have a great day trey.
and yes that was my pic of the goat.
