The DUMP VIDEO

In about two weeks I’ll be here… in a dump … in Honduras.

The following video is a documentary on the dump in Tegucigalpa Honduras, and the dump ministry that takes place there. My friend Andy Hubright has been working on a documentary about the dump for a few months. He shot all the scenes for the following amazing video on his iPhone. The video is a short version of his documentary, and is not the finished product. The long version of the this documentary will possibly be out soon. If you would like to be notified when the full version is done, send an email to hubrightat@mail.lipscomb.edu or “friend” him on facebook, Andy Hubright.

Also, understand that there are some graphic scenes in the video.

Thank you very much for sharing. I sat my kids down and watched it with them, and the first thing they said to me is ” Can we help?” . They told me how it made them feel to watch the clip. Im so proud of my kids for wanting to help.

    Thanks again

Joyce … I think it’s great to get our children to start with the mindset of helping others … and do it at a young age. Well done.

  2. I thought there were essentially two “events” a year down there with visitors. I guess I was mistaken. Still aiming to be with the group in December. Gotta get that passport renewed.

Adam, Sorry if I haven’t done a better job explaining. They feed every week at the dump. During the summer when groups are there, they’ll feed every day (even had a vbs there a couple weeks ago). When our groups there in two weeks, we’ll feed every day. The big event is Dump Day and the Jesus Banquet in December.

      Get that passport renewed.

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now, having first seen it referenced on ‘Stuff Christians Like’. I am always touched by your posts regarding the dump. I gave a tiny bit of money today; I wanted it to be more but my husband was laid off 16 months ago and we’re struggling. Even so, we’re still a million times more blessed in how we live than those people at the dump. Thank you for what you and the Tindall’s and all the rest are doing.

    • Trey Morgan says:

Michelle, I’m honored you’d take time to read. And, thanks even more that you’d give to the hungry people in Honduras. I can’t wait to be in the dump in two weeks and see what good things are happening from all the giving people have done. :)

  4. Looks eerily similar to where we’ve worked at “the dump” in Matamoras, Mexico – same descriptions and pictures (minus the cattle)…that’s why we’re trying to adopt from that city. It’s just another way of us trying to help there. Last time we were there we met a 14 year old girl with her baby. Her name was Mary and her baby’s name was Jesus. Jesus had severe problems…he died 6 weeks after we left. Those are the ones that haunt you…wish I could “fix it” and help all of them.

    • Joan says:

I’ve been thry Teguc many times on the way to Campomento. I never saw the dump but am aware of how poor Honduras is. Bless you for your caring heart and the ways that you and others are helping.
