The Bus

We’ve spent a lot of time on a bus this week. It was the best way to get a group our size around the area.

The dozens of boxes in the back are large amount of clothes we were taking to those who have nearly nothing in this world. Even though we had a lot to share, we quickly realize it wasn’t enough. Many were turned away which broke our hearts.

Why would we be willing to pay money to spend a week in a 3rd world country … riding on a hot bus … giving up the comforts of home, just feed & serve others? Because someone needs to do it (John 13:34-35).

How about you next summer?

  1. I once heard some missionaries in Africa talk about piling into overloaded buses. Sometimes those buses would get pretty crowded, even at times having goats tied to the roof!

They’d ask the bus driver how much room do you have left? “Room for one more.” It didn’t matter how many people got on the bus, the answer was always the same, “There’s room for one more.”

There’s always room for “one more.” =)

Not gettin’ a lot of takers, ugh? WOW!

I think it would be an amazing journey, to be able to go and serve. I respect, the Hee-Haw Honey, out of you guys! Maybe one day I’ll be as courageous as you guys are! (SMILE)!

Notice I did not say, “No.” – I have learned with God, don’t tell Him what you are, or are not going to do!

I had the privilege of being on this bus when this picture was taken. When I saw the picture I remembered when Trey was taking the pictures. Our bus driver was playing music, much of which was hip hop that the “older” ones on the bus weren’t too familiar with, but then “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash came on. The bus erupted in singing. We were all singing at the top of our lungs as we bumped and bounced our way to the school where we were holding the clinic that day. Fun times and great memories!!

  • it's still early. :)
  • no worries. Luke is a very popular gospel during the Christmas season. 😜 #BabyJesusStory
  • Mitch Moreland has a combined 1.6 WAR since the start of 2011 at a premium position (DH/1B). That position needs to produce.
  • definitely don't disagree with that. We will miss his glove. But he had such a quiet bat for someone at first base.
  • I only disliked him when he was at the plate.
