AIM (Adventures In Missions) has been training young people to do mission work for over 30 years. This year’s AIM class of over 40 young people are just about to finish their class time in Lubbock. By the first of June they will all be leaving for mission fields all over the world to help spread the good news about Jesus.
Childress sent five young people to AIM this year. Two are on the Miami team, two are on the South Africa team and one is on the Italy team. I pray for AIM regularly and I pray for our Childress kids everyday.
Meet Taylor’s team, team Miami. I’m now committing to them that I’ll pray for them (by name) everyday too.
Sommer Centeno, Lora Bassett, Taylor Morgan, Jaz Jubenville, Robert Porcha, Casey Tamez
- The entire AIM class will be in Childress this time next week for three days of work in our community. I can’t wait to spend some time with all of them.

Cool … will they be working with Jim Holway or the Sunset Church of Christ?
There’s so much work to be done there … Miami is a gateway city to South America just like San Francisco is to the Pacific Rim.
Very strategic location! Glad to hear they’re going there … many lifetimes could be spent (and need to be) working for Christ in that city!
So many times my daughter has been in a similar picture for mission work in Mexico, Turkey, or Ukraine. I have tons of respect for kids with a heart of missions.
westcoast – No they’ll be working with Mike Hoots mostly in Homestead. But they’ll probably see some people from Sunset once in a while.
God bless them all. The 2 AIM Teams we’ve had at our church developed into still on-going relationships between many at our church and themselves.
Thanks for the info Josh … I’ve been away from my computer all day.
AIMers are awesome!
I almost forgot to say – Miami! Now you’re in mine and Curt’s neighborhood. Come “meet” and “see” us in beautiful West Cocoa.
