SATURDAY MORNING THINKING

  • I don’t know if you’re a regular listener to my sermon podcasts, but I think this past Sunday’s was one of my most challenging lessons…”Real Forgiveness.” If you get time swing by and tell me what you think.
  • Did you see where a 102 year old British woman is going to bear all for the Miss November Nude Charity Calendar. Yea it’s true. While it kind of makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it, I did come up with 3 words that’d probably fit well with her picture: “She Needs Ironing!”
  • If you need something to read today, here are three posts on the church you really need to read if you haven’t already… here, here and here.
  • This is probably one of reasons there are so many unchurched in our country.
  • I think the thing I like best about Thanksgiving dinner is the cranberry sauce. When else can you put a big glob of sugary jelly on your plate, eat it with a fork and no one give you flack about it? Another reason to give thanks.
  • The Christmas tree goes up today. Yea!!!

Trey, the elderly lady in question needs more than just an ironing, she needs to find her mind because she has obviously lost it.

The articles are good. I liked Terry Rush’s.

I doubt seriously if people are unchurched because of signs like that one. However, I do not condone such a sign. People usually point to signs like that as a reason of why they are not in church but bottom line is that they decided to stay away from church and then went in search of a reason.

Well that’s my dollar (I think my comments are worth more than 2 cents!).

    Trey –

You’ll be happy to know, I’m sure, that cranberries are very good for you, being full of Vitamin C. Also, you can do like I do and make your cranberry sauce with Equal instead of sugar so that it’s not full of sugar.

Being diabetic 37 1/2 years I have to cover all the angles to keep from overdosing on sugar and do quite well. I eat Thanksgiving dinner just like everyone else.

I just have to watch portions, is all, and cover it all with insulin. I stay on a diet all the time, but it’s not hard.

Hope y’all had a blessed Thanksgiving and that your holiday weekend is going great!

    Much love!

Christmas tree time!! yay!! I got mine put up tonight Trey!

For a couple of years my boys would just open a can of the cranberry sauce and get a spoon and start eating! Of course, I let them…

The nekkid lady is crazy, the articles were thought provoking and the sign is ridiculous. :)

Glad your tree is finally up!

    Hmmmm.
“Jr. Church”? I almost cracked up over that one if it weren’t so condescending.

I guess “homeless Church” (outside the building)or is it “Little Church” (small groups) is supposed to be better than “Jr. Church”?
Is there really that much different between “Jr. Church” and “Little Church”? Or are semantics all that matter?

    Accountants?
Maybe next they could hire lawyers to take over for the Preacher to keep the “no rules all loop-holes” ministry going 😉

    Well that’s my $1.01 worth.

    Trey,
This is the first time I have listened to your podcast and that is very cool. Thanks
Cranberry sauce is my favorite too, my hubby hates it and didn’t want to have it this year. He was informed that was not an option.LOL

Stop Drop & Roll Doesn’t Work In Hell. Are you Serious? Is that a real church sign? Tell me that is a joke? Please. Some tell me that is a joke. That is just wrong. That is just nuts if you ask me. What a wrong way! I believe Christians should never put that on a church sign. I of course am all about a God who is filled with love and grace.

I think the Church need to teach and preach the message of love and grace.

We have been in the past like that like sign has said and it doesn’t work. It isn’t what God is about. It isn’t who he is and what he want for His creation. He his gracious to those who love him and follow his commands (wil) Gen. 33. after as God is giving ten commandments and revealing Himself to the people.

God is love. He desires us to love. I believe what Christianity is all about love. The sign is oposite of what God is all about. Crazy is what the sign promotes. It drive people away from Christianity.

If the sign is real we need to pray for those people.

    In Him,
    Kinney Mabry
