SARGENT JON JAMES & HONORING OUR TROOPS

Today, July 4th, my friend Sargent Jon James fights for my freedom in Iraq. Today is also Jon’s birthday.

Jon, my prayer is that you are able to get online today. Because I want you to know that although you’re a long way from home, today I think of you and today I thank you. Thanks for being my friend and thanks for being my hero. Today, as always, I pray God will keep you safe. Happy 4th of July and Happy Birthday, Jon.

Hello, thanks for the encouragement to all military personnel. I’m currently stationed in germany and away from my family, i was led to your page through google because i came across your post on Friday, March 09, 2007, Which leads me to ask…how about a post for “things to show your wife you love her when you’re far away”. Just thought maybe, thanks again for recognizing all the soldiers who are overseas.

Bobbalouie2003 – I am totally honored that you stopped by my little blog in this world. Thank you for what you are doing. We appreciate you more than you know. As for your thoughts on “things to show your wife you love her when you’re far away”… I’d write everyday, tell her how much you miss her, make her list of things you love about her. She’ll never get tired of things like this.

AND – Just for all the readers today, Jon was able to get on the blog and read the Birthday wishes. He was unable to comment due to computer issues. We spoke briefly on msn messenger. Blessings Jon.

    Trey,
Great post. I hope you have a great 4th of July. Our youngest son is going to eat watermelon for the first time tonight after church. Should he eat it with or without salt?

  13. Don says:

    Happy Birthday Jon!
    Keep the faith!

  14. TREY MORGAN says:

Preacherman … everything’s better with salt!!!

being somewhat apolitical, and acutely aware of the dangers of nationalism, I am not as patriotic as some, but all it takes is hearing Lee Greenwood belt out what should be our new national anthem, and I crumble in a mass of flag-waving patriotism.

    happy fourth

I am sorry you quit your blog.
Love for you to continue to post on mine any time. I appreciate you adding to any discussion and I like your taste in music. :-) ZZ top!! I saw them live in Abilene of all places.

  17. preacherman says:

    Trey,
He did have it with salt and loved it. Your right everything is better with salt, especially watermelon.

  18. Greg says:

Thanks for sharing this, Trey. I will try to remember to keep him in prayer. Maybe I need people praying for my memory! And a belated Happy Birthday to a real American patriot!!

  • it's still early. :)
  • no worries. Luke is a very popular gospel during the Christmas season. 😜 #BabyJesusStory
  • Mitch Moreland has a combined 1.6 WAR since the start of 2011 at a premium position (DH/1B). That position needs to produce.
  • definitely don't disagree with that. We will miss his glove. But he had such a quiet bat for someone at first base.
  • I only disliked him when he was at the plate.
