The following conversation took place at lunch today between Taylor, our son who is in the Army, and his mother … who is very girly. I found a lot of humor in it.
MOM: Are you still sleeping on the top of your covers at night so you don’t have to re-make your bed in the mornings?
TAYLOR: No, we actually are just sleeping on a mattress now. We had to turn in our sheets a few days ago.
MOM: (Shocked) WHAT!?! You’re sleeping on a dirty mattress … with no sheets?
TAYLOR: Yeah.
MOM: A dirty mattress … a mattress that you don’t know where it’s been or what’s slept on it? Seriously?
TAYLOR: Mom, I’ve spent the last week or so sleeping outside on the ground … in a hole … in 30 degree weather … while it was raining. I’m VERY thankful to have JUST a mattress.
MOM: Okay … that’s a good point.

It’s all perspective, isn’t it? Good story!
Great story…funny and so cute.

I can just see the look on her face too. Love it!
