What made the wise men of Matthew 2 so wise? Maybe it was the fact that they were passionate about watching for Jesus and seeking him.
When Jesus was born, the inn-keeper didn’t know who Jesus was, the business people of Bethlehem didn’t know he was there, and the religious didn’t have a clue that the Messiah was right under their noses. But the wise men from the east came seeking Jesus. That’s one of the things that made them so wise.
Do you seek Jesus today? If you do, that makes you wise. I want to make 2010 a year in which I seek Jesus with all my heart. I want to be more passionate about Jesus this coming year than ever before. I also understand that passion for Jesus doesn’t happen by accident… just like any relationship, it’s going to take work, effort and seeking him. If I seek him, the bible promises that I’ll find what I’m seeking.
Wise men still seek Jesus, and I want to be a wise man. I want to be passionate about Jesus. How about you?

I have made many resolutions over the years. I think this year I will focus on Jesus. I want to seek him out and get to know my Lord and Savior like I never have before!!!!

Studying His word everyday is a great way to focus on Jesus. There are so many different resources on line to read the Bible every day, it makes it easier than ever to study the Bible.
I like this post. and your video from Charlie Brown….
Due to my track record of New Year's resolutions, I will not make this a resolution; rather, a determination. After all, there is no greater passion in life than a passion for Jesus. Love your heart, Trey.
I made that very resolution a few months ago, but it is always helpful to make it again.
Following Jesus is one thing, but being willing to be led is another.
Led by Jesus' teachings, his love, and by what he wants in my life. It is easier to talk the talk than walk the walk, and this year, I want to walk the walk.
Great goal for the new year, Trey.
Like you, I want to be more passionate about Jesus as well. Therefore, as corny as this may sound, I have adapted the lyrics from Casting Crowns new song to be my prayer for this new year.
"Lord I want to feel with your heart, and see the world through your eyes. I want to be your hands and feet, I want to live a life that leads. I want to see you set the captives free and I pray that they will see more of you and less of me as I lift your name for all the world to hear."
Hopefully we both can be more passionate in the coming year. As always, thanks for your blog.
Yes, great goal. Reminds me of today's post over at The Blazing Center. It's encouraging to see many Christians shooting for the same goal… the same, fantastic goal.

I'm not into resolutions, but I am big on setting goals. Big difference, right? I keep meaning to sit down and right out a list of objectives for 2010 and beyond. When I do I'll keep this overriding directive you suggest in mind. If I can do that one thing, everything else should fall into place.
MM – I always enjoy your comments. Now if I could just figure out who you are
Rick – Exactly.
Chris – I miss you blogging on a regular basis. You coming by today is like a visit from an old friend.
Marshall – Amen
