Over the last two weeks, I’ve taken a short break from blogging. Monday I’ll officially get started again (today doesn’t count 😉

During my two week break I’ve had a lot of fun. Here’s a few things I’ve done …

  • Rested
  • Read
  • Taught Cooper to snow ski
  • Turkey hunted with Taylor and Parker
  • Watched some pitiful Dallas Cowboy football
  • Enjoyed spending time with family I hadn’t seen in a long time
  • Played in the snow
  • Got stuck in the snow twice, despite having a 4X4 (getting stuck is a man thing)
  • Took a little break from running to allow my body to rest
  • And, I’m still proudly displaying my Christmas lights (at least until Lea makes me take them down)

If you’re interested … here’s a couple of links to where you can find me…

Hey Trey, sounds like you’ve had my kind of vacation. Here’s what we’ve been doing here in Central Florida:
    1. Played golf twice which doubles the number of times I had played in the last 6 months – grip it and rip it!
    2. Went fishing on the Kennedy Space Center Beach with a friend of mine that works at the Space Center. Nothing like catching Pompano, black drum, whiting, and red snapper while in the shadow of a Titan Launch Complex.
    3. Being dragged down the beach by what was probably a shark. That was the one that got away but for a few minutes, it was worth the fight.
    4. Had folks over for a New Year’s Eve Party and played numerous games of “Rotation” on our Pool Table.
    5. Went with my buddy from South Carolina (the other USC) to the Outback Bowl to watch them self-destruct to a bunch of mean boys from Iowa.

Oh, forgot to add watching my FSU Seminoles blast some boys from Wisconsin in their Bowl game on T.V.

We took the kids to Silver Dollar City for the closest thing we have had to a family vacation in years. It was great. And we started remodeling our house, which is a lot more exciting than it sounds… lol.

Glad to read you have had a nice break!

I, too, have taken a break from running to allow my body to rest. To date, it’s been about a 16.5 year break!

I think my office computer still has a bit of a hangover from the New Year’s break. What I was saying was…

    – I got a new ipod so I can listen to your sermons… or not.

    – I flew to North Carolina and got to see Lowe’s Motor Speedway (doesn’t count because I didn’t go in but stil…

    – I have a student from Rwanda living in the house until the dorms open again. It’s always fun trying to explain crazy American slang and sports!
