There's a sister in Christ named Patsy Rae Dawson and she and her husband minister together and have a website http://gospelthemes.com/
where they talk about many subjects. Her best teaching is her book "Marriage: a Taste of Heaven: Vol 1: God's People appreciate Marriage. Vol 2: God's people make the best lovers is good as well. She instructs us on how women ought to view sex as a good and vital thing! She speaks to us about Prov 5:18-19 and she breaks down the entire book of Song of Solomon verse by verse. It's definitely a good and instructive read for God's people! God created us (with our sexual desires and needs) so sexual love definitely is for us and we ought to reclaim it!

this is a great post. what is sad is that churches do disregard this topic or if they do bring it up it is only the negative. i wonder why. this isn't teaching a younger generation anything. it's either making their relationships with others feel like a burden or like they are sinful. of course, we agree sex before marriage is a big no-no, but in this day and age it happens. i believe if you are devoted to someone then it's OK. [i could go in depth a little more but i won't] . without sex – we don't make babies! and that's a beautiful part of life! well, that kind of IS life. heh.

I completely agree. The church needs to take a firm stand with this topic. I also believe parents need to take a firm stance with the topic. The message needs be that sex within marriage is a gift from God and not "predictable" as you put it. Abstinence rather than "safe sex" should be the message taught across the United States practiced by unmarried people. This post has inspired me to add this topic to my own blog soon. You hit the nail right on the head.

You can't talk about sex enough, IMHO. Sex education should go beyond "Put the Bible between your legs and don't open them!" As a sex therapist, I am constantly educating couples about sex and undoing common myths. Keep writing!

I keep waiting for Eddie Parish, of http://www.parishhermitage.org , to start writing a blog. Now there's a Christian brother (for whom I have tremendous respect) who talks about sex A LOT!!!

By the way, I really love Kevin Lehman's book, "Sheet Music." Great book on sexuality from a Christian perspective, and he actually had me laughing out loud all the way through.

And finally, I always get a kick out of checking some of my behind the scenes blog stats. It is amazing how many of my visitors "click out" on the sex-related links I have listed. Let's face it – we're all interested. Keep bringing the truth – regarding sexuality, and everything else that matters in life.

Who taught you? I also taught it on Wed. night to my girls classes for several years. I taught it from the Bible and from books – the girls were always attentive. At that time they were still not getting it from parents or from church. I hope someone is teaching it from God's word. gmj

I realize there are those that may not be comfortable with the "Conversations with God" books, however, book 2 has an absolutely awesome description of God's intentions for sex. It is very intense and very spiritual.

Great point. I don't talk about sex on my blog, but I sure don't want Hollywood to be the only voice out there talking about sex. Absolutely, we need Christian folks talking about it. I believe Kay Arthur has also started doing women's studies about sex, as well.

I agree, Gods ways are never wrong and sex is a wonderful gift from God. Like anything, it can be abused when it is treated as a commodity one finds on the shelf, and sadly, that is how much of society and Hollywood view it. Sex and Lust are two different things.
