    Trey,
    I thought this was great.
But is not just the retailers and stores who are trying to get Christmas out of everything. My middle son came home sing “We wish you a happy holiday, we wish you a happy holiday, we wish you a happy holiday and happy new year.” For His school program. I was so angry. I told him it was Christmas. We wish you a merry Christmas. But his teach, priciple and super intendent didn’t want to offend anyone. Well what about the Christians?

Do they ever think about offend the Christians?
Do we ever speak out and say we are offended?
Should we? Or should we be silent?

I do love the clip it is great. Money speaks. Will they listen?

It is like they have taken Christ out of everything and replaced it with Holiday everywhere and nobody had noticed and cares.

It is where our society has come and influenced the church.

    Again great post Trey.
    Keep it up brother.

    Trey,
Wow what an awesome video.. I think if we (christians) boycotted the merchants that used the phrase “Happy Holidays” during our Christmas shopping they would see a huge recession…

Your sister AKA www. sent this to me. Sometimes we just have to let those who want to debate, keep on debating–we can continue to celebrate our Savior 365!

    Peace

PS how’s the tree? Are you gonna post a pic of it?

Our school district even calls it Winter Break now instead of Christmas Break. Oh brother!!

  5. Matthew says:

    Give me Merry Christmas

  6. Greg says:

Growing up in churches of Christ in the deep south, we were never allowed to really consider Christ in Christmas anyway. But I am so sick of political correctness in this nation. My son was picking out cards to send from our business, wondering which greeting. We chose “Merry Christmas” mainly as a protest against the PC crowd trying to remove Christ from everything. Did you know in Australia Santa Claus is not permitted to say, “Ho, Ho, Ho” this year as it may be offensive to women? So they are making Santas says, “Ha, Ha, Ha.” Just doesn’t work.

    … and Happy Holi-if-you-consider-them-holy-days.

(Just thought I’d give you a preview of the next step!)

  9. Jeanne M. says:

I grew up in Texas in the late 30’s/early 40’s. In the building of the church of Christ my family attended, we had a Christmas tree set up in the auditorium, and Santa came to distribute gifts for the children of Boles Home who came for a special treat. All the other children were given a stocking with fruit, nuts and hard candy. We sang carols of Christ’s birth. It was a special time for all of us. It wasn’t until the 50’s or 60’s that I began hearing that we shouldn’t celebrate Christ’s birthday, but it was just a special family time. Now I am aware we do not know exactly when Christ was born, and the time of his death, burial and resurrection are known. But since the “Christian” world is remembering Christ at this time, it seems to me we could be using it to talk and teach about the purpose of Christ being born to any who might listen. IMHO
