Since today is Memorial Day, I’m supposed to have the day off. Yea! Problem is I’m kind of under the weather. Laryngitis has hit me hard, which is not a good thing for a preacher. I barely made it through two lessons yesterday and then I struggled through a third last night that I did at the baccalaureate service for the graduating seniors. I don’t really feel bad, I just can’t talk. I do plan on relaxing today, resting my voice, catching a 4 mile run and helping Lea around the house.
Two things that weigh heavy on my mind today.
- I’m so thankful for these people.
- My heart still is aching for the Dobbs family. Today John reflects on what it’s like to bury a child. I feel so helpless to help them.
See you tomorrow! ~Trey

Trey,
1) GET BETTER SOON! I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well!
2) Thanks for posting that video. It still gives me chills to watch, even though I am watching it in my uniform. It’s one of my favorites, so thank you for posting it today.
3) I cried over John’s words for his son. I can’t imagine being a parent right now, let alone having to go through the pain that he and his wife are experiencing. But I am glad that he has so many supporters all over the world praying for him and reaching out to him. Thank you for extending it out a little bit further and sharing this news (even though sad) so that I may pass it on and bring in more prayers.
Have a great one Trey and feel better!

Good to hear from you. I miss you. I’m proud of you, what you are and what you stand for. Thank you for protecting our freedom.
Blessings, prayers and hugs…
Thank you for sharing the video…I might have to save that somehow…that really moved me…we (or atleast I) take them for granted…
God Bless their hearts and Bless the Dobb family…I can’t even imagine….steph
Trey…
Sorry you are sick….I will bring you some chicken noodle soup if you need it…lol
I think the worst thing to ever happen would be to bury a child..My prayers are with John and his family..
I love the video too..very touching!
Sorry about your larngitis.
Still praying for the Dobbs family and the trucker driver who was involved.
So sad. So unfair.
I too am SO THANKFUL for the troops that put there lives on the line every day for all of our freedoms. My son and my 2 son-in-laws(sons) do it everyday. Blessing and prayers go out to them and all our troops every time we raise our voices to God, and every time they enter our thoughts.
I still wish, though, just once in my lifetime, to see our churches receive returning missionaries just as enthusiastically… sigh…
Hope you get to feeling better.
Grace and peace,
Tim
Trey, laryngitis needs complete rest – not just resting your voice. Take it easy!
Trey,
I hope you had a great memorial day weekend brother. I am still praying day and night for John Dobb’s family. One thing I have learned over the last year is that God does listen and act. Pray is a powerful source in which we experience: Healing (emotional, physical, spiritual), blessings, forgiveness, hope. May John and his family feel the power of prayer. God bless you Trey! I am thankful for your relationship and blog brother.
