Seems like when it comes to teenagers these days all you hear are the bad things they do. I know there are plenty of great young people out there, but our society just chooses to focus on those that do negative things. That’s why I’d like you to meet Matraca. She is one of my heroes in this world, and I’d love to tell you why.
Matraca has been a leader in our youth group for the past 4 years. She was also this year’s valedictorian at Childress High School. Because she was the 2009 valedictorian, she received multiple scholarships to pay for her college. The thing that is amazing about Matraca (and her parents who support her), is that she’s got something else on her heart. She has chosen to forgo the money offered to pay for her college and instead spend two years on the mission field in the AIM program
. I must say, I am impressed.
Matraca starts school in about two weeks. Because there are so many that read this blog, I won’t be shy in saying that she is still slightly short (about $150 a month) on her support that she needs in the AIM program. She’s also still looking for some one-time contributions that she needs. If you’d be interested in supporting a young woman wanting to do full time mission work for the Lord or want more information about this, feel free to contact me at the email address on the right of my blog or you can send something to:

More than anything Matraca covets your prayers. When you get time this week, honor her by placing her name before the Lord in prayer.
I love young people who have a heart for the Lord.
