I just got an email from an AIM team that’s working down in Honduras. These young people spent a week with me in Childress this past spring. Their team consists of 3 boys and 3 girls and they will be there for just over a year. I have found their ministry so amazing that I had to share it you.

They’ve found a large group of families and children that are going to the dump every day to pick through the trash trying to find something to eat for the day. Sadly, by the time it gets to the dump, it’s already been picked over numerous times. One of the girl’s emails said, “Here’s a dump update: This past month we had the opportunity to go out there everyday for a week. We have been making sandwiches and taking food out to the people sorting through the trash at the dump. God has given us a unique ministry to reach out to these people.”

She also said, “Here are some things we’ve done just this past month. I think we’re making a difference…”

· Given away 1050 lbs of food
· Given 1200 sandwiches at the dump
· Given away 800 bibles
· Built 16 houses
· Given away 900 sets of clothes
· And built 2 schools
· We have also continued to visit hospitals and pray with the patients
· 35 baptisms!

Wow, talk about ministry! Yes, I’d say that they are making a difference. Keep up the good work Honduras team!

Real Chrisianity!! You would have to pull teeth around here to get something like that done. Get it passed by the elders and then hear to church gripe about why we did it?
    Awesome work Honduras Team!!

This is so encouraging to see what young people can do – on their own – no prodding from older people. Great lesson for all of us. Thanks for sharing.

My husband and I help support one of the AIM’ERS in Honduras. So we hear from her often, also. She has told us of the work at the dump, she said by the time the BUZZARDS and people have gone through it all day, there is little left for the people who can come only late evening. It makes my stomach and my heart sick. She also said they could do more with some monetary help, she said if anyone could help any little amount to email her at and she would tell you how to send the money so it would go to the dump ministry. Love to all in Christ. Trey’s mother.

What an eternal difference these AIM-ers are making. The God of the Universe is also the God of a dump through the ministry these young people are conducting.

It was great to see you and your family in Lubbock. Isn’t it cool to think all the Childress kids will be doing things like this in less than a year? Appreciate you, bro.

I just want to let you know that I’m so grateful for you and your family. You probably don’t remember me specifically but i was there in Childress with the 2006 aim class. Every time I get an e-mail from you about how you’re praying for us all, it really encourages me.. but I think this is the first time I’ve finally gotten around to letting you know! I completely adore the entire team in Honduras. They are incredible and have encouraged me so much, so it’s nice to see them showcased here.. I know things aren’t always easy for them. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement. We really need it!

I wish the news media would feature more stories about kids like these missionaries than the bad seeds. No one needs to know about more misbehavior in the world. We need encouragement and enlightenment and inspiration to do better ourselves. God bless you for working with these young people and God bless them for their giving hearts.

  • He was pretty tough to listen to as well.
  • As crazy as it might sound, Chris Collinsworth just might be worse to listen to than the song Christmas Shoes.
  • Please remember that some Christmas music is incredibly offensive to people with grandmothers who actually were run over by reindeer.
  • Unfortunately, not a great night for "bobcats." :)
