I WAS THIRSTY, BUT YOU DRANK BOTTLED WATER

Today is Wednesday. I love this day because I know that every Wednesday the people at the Tegucigalpa dump in Honduras are fed because of your generosity. Today will be a good day for them because instead of eating what they find in the trash at the dump, they’ll most likely get a bowl of beans and rice. Thank you again.

I love Rich Stearns translation of Matthew 25 that he gives in his book, “The Hole in our Gospel.” Here’s how he writes it …

“For I was hungry, while you had all you needed. I was thirsty, but you drank bottled water. I was a stranger, and you wanted me deported. I needed clothes, but you needed more clothes. I was sick, and you pointed out the behaviors that led to my sickness. I was in prison, and you said I was getting what I deserved.”

Thank you for caring about others, and thank you for feeding dirty, hungry people.

Today is Wednesday and I’m reminded that the people of the Tegucigalpa dump will eat because of you. Today I give thanks for you ….

Well said, Trey. I wish I was in Teguc TODAY helping serve lunch at the dump! :-)

By the way, Stearn's book is amazing– and convicting.

    Blessings to you brother!

Trey, Today when we pulled into the dump, there were something like 100+ that ran as fast as possible to get in line. A year ago, they would have been pushing and shoving to try to be first. Now, they get in line, laugh, spend some time talking with me and others there and wait patiently. We are making lots of friends and we see that they trust us and know that we will be there every Wednesday.
