I love using the f-word, all three of them. No, not that f-word, but the f-words faith, family and friends. Sadly our generation has known the “f-word” as a short reference for a curse word, but I think it’d be great to reclaim the f-word for something more important in this life … like faith, family and friends. Those three things are the most valuable things in the world.

FAITH: I owe everything to God. All that I have and all that I am is because of God. I exist on this earth because God has been gracious to me. Twice God has saved my life from cancer, and my faith in Him is the most important thing I have. My goal in this life is simple, do not just talk about being a Christian, live it. If I can just do that, everything else will fall into place. Faith is a wonderful f-word.

FAMILY: I love raising my four boys and they are a gift from God. My most important ministry in life right now is raising them. As for Lea, when I married her, I married out of my league. She is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am rich in marriage. Money can’t buy what we have. I have a soul mate and someone I can trust. I am minutes away from open arms at anytime during my day. She is my confidant, friend and lover. I have what all the Country & Western singers croon about. And just think of it, my sweet wife only has … me! Pray for her :) Family is a great f-word.

FRIENDS: It’s pretty common knowledge that men don’t have as many close friends like women do. In fact I once read where the average man will have only two close friends in their lifetime. I will admit that I have been blessed with some very close friendships with other men in my life. Friends who have listened to me, encouraged me and who have stood by me during tough times. I’m even thankful for friends who have held me accountable and prayed with me. I can’t imagine what life would be like without friendship. Friendship is another great f-word.

F-words … faith, family and friends … I love them.

I have to second Peter's remark!

Fantastic! And I expect Lea and your boys have a much better description of you than you have of yourself. :)

    Blessings to you!

I love the f-word "forgiveness". Just think where we would be without it.

great post trey. we use a different connotation of the f-word in our accountability group; FINE. it's based on a post by jon acuff at stuff christians like entitled "using the christian f-word" (http://is.gd/1Tlw1). when someone asks you how your week went and you say that you are "fine", there's usually a giant elephant under your chair that everyone can see you are trying to hide.
