God’s plan to save you and I wasn’t a last minute ditch effort. It wasn’t drawn up in the sand like some hail-mary to pull out a win at the end. No, the Father’s plan to save you and I was a perfectly planned out event that came to be LONG before the world was even created.
The part that still throws me for a loop is the fact that God was willing to send his very best. God didn’t look around heaven and find some unknowing half-witted angel and offer him for you and I. Instead he sent his son. Only his very best for you and I. That oozes with love that I cannot comprehend.
Nobody does that! We might offer our own life for a close friend, but we’d never offer one of our children’s lives … for anyone. But because he offered his best, God expects us to offer our best to him and to others.
You and I should give because He gave first.
You and I should give our best, because our Father gave his best … his very best.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
