judging by the size of your family (i'm speaking in weight terms) you'd NEVER know they were eating two gallons of ice cream a day was it? anyway, this made me laugh so hard. . . . trey, i hardly think you need to worry about a chinese kid being born into your family. . . . i mean, arent like 51% of the people in the world women. . . you didn't hit that statistic either! also glad to know that you read every comment, because i'm comment #22 on this thing and i'd be worried you'd get tired of reading them after a while! ps. . i hate word verification and contemplate hitting the handicap button every time. . . . what stops me?

Thanks for letting me know what I have in store! Granted I have 2 boys and a baby girl, but she eats just as much as the boys! Between my 3 kids and my husband, our grocery bill is insane and my kids are under 5! I think I will have to get a second job to keep up with the food bill. :) My hubby has told me stories from HS and college and how much he ate, so I am preparing myself now!

Thanks, I needed something to put a smile on my face today as today work has become a four letter word. Actually, I guess it has always been a four letter word.

I feel your pain. If you family is like mine, the youngest is the one who eats the most. We can cook scrambled eggs with ham and cheese and he will eat two plates full with 4 pieces of toast. Within five minutes of walking away from the table he wants a bowl of cereal, followed by a handfull or two of chips. And, believe me, lunch can't come quickly enough for this little boy.

The good news in all of this is that the cycle never ends -- grandchildren!

Have a good day.

I have two brother and both of them are 6'4" or bigger and we ate everything we could fine.

I have three kids now and I will be excited when my son gets out of Formula in two months!

God bless

Man, I feel for you 'brother', I didn't have 4 boys, but I had 4 teens at one time and they would each bring 2-4 friends with them to my house to eat, daily. On numerous occasions I witnessed Jesus feed 5000 on 2 fish and 5 loaves.

Monalea

My oldest once at 57 pieces of pizza at Cicis. I was embarrassed and told him that was enough. He said, "But mom, the sign says all you can eat and I am still hungry" Still embarrassed and obviously not thinking clearly I told him he could eat when we got home. He did! He ate several bowls of cereal and a couple slices of toast. He was fifteen.
Now he is grown and six foot eight and I would gladly fix anything and everything he wanted to eat if he came over (all the way from Florida).
Treasure every moment, my friend.

Peace
Neva
ps--he now has three boys and I will eventually get the last laugh--teehee.
and as far as the Chinese 5th child--you know an hour after she is born, you will just want a 6th child. :)

there was a considerable change to our shopping list once my two older brothers went off to college, though i could out eat anyone at a holiday meal (i miss that metabolism).

i've known a few boys that eat like super models, or are extremely picky, but for the majority--wow.

This is funny ... and brings back memories. Years ago when we lived in Florida, KFC had a deal where a kid under the age of 12 could eat all the chicken he / she wanted for something like $3.99. Our son could eat his weight in chicken and enjoyed 13 chicken breasts! They will eventually move out and then you can start saving a little money. Until then, ask the elders if you can get on the benevolence list for help! After all, if they don't take care of their own, they are worse than infidels ... to slightly twist a passage to your benefit.

Hey Trey, I have a fifth child and would be glad to send her your way sometimes.

Ours eat us out of house and home too. I would bet your youngest is your biggest eater.

Hang in there. Someone promised me once that they do move out eventually. :)

Paula

Glad to know that about the Chinese kid thing. It may be good we stopped at three if the fourth one is a garbage disposal and the 5th one speaks a different language.
We have a hard enough time feeding and communicating with the ones we already have.

We were talking about this the other night at supper. When we first were married, James could put away a lot of food and it never showed. I think we both could have done the deal at the Big Texan at that point because I could eat a lot of steak.

Have you guys ever tried the Big Texan deal in Amarillo?

Kathy

If I had ever caught one of my kids unwrapping a stick of butter to eat as a snack, I would have hung back and let them have a bite. And then wish I had the camera handy. What a sight that would have been!

Can you EVER fill up a boy?
My oldest has soccer practice for two hours each day. Then the boys are supposed to go home for an hour for a "light supper" for some energy, then back for another hour of running. Last night, his "light supper" included mashed potatoes, gravy, porkchop, bread and corn on the cob with a tall glass of milk. I asked him if he thought he would make it with all that food and running in 100+ degree heat. He's reply, "Are there anymore porkchops? I'm still hungry!"

I've also found him eating tuna straight from the can when groceries were low.

I can't imagine trying to feed four boys!
