My friend John asked me recently, “Why do you think people are willing to give their money when you ask?” I told him, “First, I try to only ask when there is a serious need. Second, I try not to use up my bullets and ask for money constantly. Occasionally gets more response than constantly.”
I’ve tried hard on my blog, to not use up my bullets, asking for things all the time. My main goal is the “Dump Fund” that I push hard for every May 5th. That will be a big push for me again this year, because by May 2010 the money we raised for the “Dump Fund” will be running out.
With all that said, I just want to tell you about something that came up yesterday. Marc Tindall, my missionary friend in Honduras, sent this message about an amazing opportunity to buy food…
“Got a call yesterday and was told – ‘We have 425,000 rice & veggie meals available, do you want them?’ Duh! Of course we want them. They are shipping December 30 and now we need to pray for our God to show how to pay for the shipment. An amazing value – $100,000 in food value for a shipping cost of something like $4500. Food for 300 kids/ 5x a week / 3+ years.”
He purchased 425,000 meals on faith. Enough meals to feed 300 hungry kids (just like the picture above), five days a week, for three years. $100,000 worth of food for roughly $4500.
I will tell you that I immediately reposted his note on facebook and to this point we’ve already raised $3000 of that $4500. Only $1500 to go. So, I ask humbly, scared to death that I may be using up my bullets, would you help a little on this amazing miracle of food? You can even skip my Christmas present this year and donate the $10 or whatever to feed the hungry kids (smile). If we can do this, it’ll be worth not saving all my bullets.

Feed a hungry kid for three years … can’t think if a better way to spend a little Christmas money. Thanks again …
