Lea and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary tomorrow. It’s been a great 20 year journey that amazingly gets better every single year. Every year I think to myself, “It can’t get better than this!” but it does, every year. I definitely married up when I married Lea.
So, to celebrate our 20th, we’re off to do something we’ve always wanted to do. We’re leaving today to go to Boston for a second honeymoon. We’re planning on eating some amazing food, watching the Red Sox play the Rangers in baseball and reconnecting in our relationship. All I can say is, “What kind of loser would post on his blog on a second honeymoon?” I may throw in a few pictures, but don’t expect much. Have a great week.

Note to my six AIMers in Lubbock (Taylor, Ryan, Evan, Brittany, Lora, Miranda): Been praying for you, by name, everyday.

Special note to Taylor: I’m proud of you kid and “How ’bout those Cowboys.”

We celebrate 20 in December. Thanks a lot for raising the bar…. Good thing my wife doesn’t read blogs!
A good friend will be an AIMer along with the Childress crew. Her name is Cassandra Tamez, though she goes by Casey. She’ll be a blessing to them, and I’m sure it will be mutual.
Grace and peace,
Tim
September 17th is our 20 year as well. Have a good time.
I am going to go see Sandi today, I guess you did not choke on the hot sauce:)
Congratulations on your 20th. I think you both married well. I love you both and I pray for you and yours daily. Have a good time, maybe some day we can hear all about it. It would be a shame if sweet Lea didn’t get to do a little shopping in Boston. I know Taylor is in good hands as long as he holds on to Lord and lets Him guide him. gmj
Congratulations and enjoy Beantown. Hope and pray you can celebrate 59 years like we did this year. You are right – every year gets better.
thankfully my sister is out of the country, so i think i finally beat her to commenting
congrats on 20 years well spent. i thought you were going to say “to celebrate our 20th anniversary we got rid of one of our kids” but. . . no, even more exciting than that. . . . a second honeymoon. i think mike’s bro and sis in law went to boston about a year ago for their 20th, is this some sort of tradition? have a great time!!!!
I hope you and Lea have a wonderful time, Trey, and that she does get to do some shopping! Congratulations! We are looking forward to our 30th next year. I guess we should start planning.
Congrats on the 20. The second honeymoon I understand. Boston I don’t completely. You will have to blog after you come back with the benefits of going there. Again, congrats to all who have reached that mark recently.
20 years of marriage brings a lot of history so I understand the trip to a city with so much history, Boston. Going to a Red Sox game at Fenway ranks right up their with going to see the Celtics play.
I wonder if the “Cheers Bar” from the T.V. show is still there.
Enjoy the time together and blessings to you both.
Congratulations!! If you think it can’t get any better than 20, just wait till you get to 30! Jeanne and I will celebrate 30 in December. Since that’s such a busy month we usually celebrate a little earlier in the year. Apparently great minds think alike when it comes to planning anniversary trips. We took a little trip to Charleston SC last month (amazing food, lots of history and a little beach time). Next month we are also going to watch the Red Sox play the Rangers (only it won’t be in Boston). Have a great trip and may each year continue to get better!
I hope you two have a blast this week! I thought about you as I was passing thru Childress this afternoon, I sure am glad I got to spend a little time with y’all Friday. (where was Conner and Cooper?) I hope Lea got the “whole wardrobe thing” figured out. Tell her I said, if she didn’t just go buy new stuff while y’all are there!
And as for Matt H., geeee, I was going to give him a jar of hot sauce yesterday, but I was in Dallas!!
All I have to say about that is…GO RANGERS!!!
BTW..Jeff and I will be married 28 years in March!! (yep, I was just a kid!)
congrats trey and lea! and whoa team honduras… i am in awe.
Wow, I was feeling old today. That was until you posted and I realized you got married on my 12th birthday! Hope Boston is wheelchair accessible.
Enjor your aniversary! You two are a great example of Christian marriage. The wife and I started discussing plans for our tenth anniversay this week (which will be Dec 2010). Have fun and travel back safely.
Correction: Our 10th will be Dec 2009. We are coming up on our 9th this year!
Congratulations!
May God bless you with another 20 years.
Congratulations….Good luck for the next 20+ years. There is nothing better than being married to your best friend and the one you love….you guys are an inspiration to your kids and others…thank you…steph
happy anniversary!!
i would love to see boston stuff, especially fenway. i actually interviewed for a church a few miles outside of boston back in 2003, nice group. Jim Mcguiggan’s nephew is their minister now
have fun,
marisa and I started dating 9 years ago this week
Happy Anniversary!…Wish Elvis could have made it…lol
Congratulations! Tony and I just had our 29th in July. Next year…if we make it to 30….we are going on a trip somewhere. I deserve it after being married to him that long!!!!
We just watched the game. What a great game to be at. I can’t think of a better place to go for your 20th than Boston. We have been brainstorming about our 10th for a few months now and Boston has crossed our minds but I think we might save it for when the kids are a little older. I hope you guys are having a great time.
Congratulations!
Congratulations. Any couple who has learned to enjoy each other and grow together over 20 years deserves applause and prayers for continued love, health, and happiness. As I say often when performing weddings, marriage is the greatest laboratory for learning to love.
In Christ,
