WHAT I LEARNED…
- This course provided two of the biggest hills I’ve ever seen in my entire life. These were Mount Sinai sized hills.
- I’m thrilled they put off the start time until 9 a.m. to give it time to warm up. It was just above freezing when the race started.
- I was excited to get to see Steve German, from Lubbock (not pictured) and James Henderson, from Mexico City both running the race.

You are my new hero!
is that james from AIM. oh my gosh, how fun is that!!
Where is buffalo wallow? It sounds like one of those empty fields where some battle was fought hundreds of years ago that my dad would go visit! Either way though, I’m very impressed at all the things you accomplish! I don’t know how you do it all! Congrats!
Jenny – that is James from AIM. Cool huh?
Dixie – That does sound like a place your dad would like. It was actually supposed to say “Buffalo Springs half Marathon.”
Way to go Trey! Remember Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, aint no river wide enough…..=)
Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that
bringeth good tidings…
Trey,
Why do you blog? Today you inspired me to get on the treadmill at least 5 times this week. Thank you.
Hey, Trey, okay, I know you don’t know me. Timbra told me that you ran the same half marathon as me, after she figured out that I was talking about James on my blog. ‘Cause I didn’t use his name.
Those hills were crazy, weren’t they? I didn’t even bother running the third one; I decided I wasn’t making my goal time, so I might as well recover a bit.
And, actually, it is the “Buffalo Wallow”. We in the WTRC have some funny names for our races (Cotton Patch, Prairie Dog… etc.)
Hi Su … Cool that we ran the same race. Wish I could have met you.
Those were the biggest and longest hills I’ve ever seen in my life.
As for the name, I wasn’t sure what the name was, but I knew where it was… Buffalo Springs.
