I’ve been asked to pass along some exciting information …
TheoBloggers is a fantastic blog hosting site and I hope one day to move my blog to their site. The cool thing TheoBloggers is doing right now is they are having the 1st ever “People’s Choice” blogging awards. They are looking for you to nominate your favorite blog or blogs for an award. You don’t have to be a blogger to nominate someone, just a blog reader. Anyone can nominate any blog. I’ve already nominated 2 of my favorite blogs and I’ve still got one more to do. I’m excited that I’m going to get to attend the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Tulsa Workshop this year. Here’s the full story and how you do it…
This is from TheoBloggers website –
At the Tulsa Workshop this year, we will be having a TheoBloggers® sponsored dinner for Christian bloggers and fans of Christian bloggers on Saturday, March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Road Church of Christ building. Of the myriad festivities that will occur at that dinner, one of the most exciting will be the first annual TheoBloggers® Christian Bloggers Awards.
Just like blogging, we want to make this a community event. To do so, we need you to help us nominate bloggers for various awards. Once the nominations are in, a panel of five judges will consider all comments and frequency of nominations and will sort the nominations and come up with the top three in each category. At that time, we will make you aware of the finalists and you will get to make the final decision in a second round of voting. The results of these awards will be announced at the TheoBloggers® dinner and then posted at http://www.theobloggers.com.
We have two categories of awards: “Best of” awards, which focus on individual blogs and posts, and “Blogger of the Year”, which will focus on the overall content and communicative value of the blog. The “Best of” awards will consist of the following categories:
- Best Marriage/Family/Parenting Blog
- Best Leadership/Discipleship Blog
- Best Devotional/Inspirational Blog
- Best Theological Blog
- Best Practical Ministry Blog
- Best Blog by a Female Blogger
- Best New Blogger – Must have started their first blog in 2008

As I have written on other blogs that have posted this announcement, I am a bit surprised and offended there is no category for “Best Stooge Blog” … and I am one of the owners of theobloggers! Those other two guys are never open to radically innovative ideas.
I think a Best Stooge blog is a great idea… lol.
Trey,
Its spelled g r a c…. lol
Yours is one of my favorites for sure.
I am hoping I can attend this year.

I think it’s best not to give awards for blogs – you end up isolating people and hurting people’s feelings.
It should tell us something about how far we have strayed from our Campbell-Stone Heritage that “Best Church Unity Blog” wasn’t a category. http://www.worldconvention.org/wordpress/
My husband and I are members of the Church of Christ and both post blogs. After looking at the list I find myself wishing that there were more categories. While my blog has Christian posts, it is eclectic and covers my photography and my view of God’s creation as I view and enjoy nature. My husband is a science fiction writer, Henry Melton. None of these categories would fit the type of blog he writes. Perhaps you can pass that on for next years Blog Awards.
