Augment Project Update (Extreme Home Makeover)

This Sunday night (September 26th) we’ll have a BIG crew working on the Augment Project (303 H N.W.) We’ll be starting at 5:30, and we’re asking the community to show up. We’ve had the old garage torn down this week and the trees trimmed up. Both the garage and the trees are lying in a BIG pile waiting to be loaded up and hauled off. I’m expecting a BIG turnout … and it’s going to be “organized chaos.”  :)

We’ll be gutting the house and getting it ready to start working on the inside. If you’re coming tomorrow, here are a few things you might want to bring…

  • long pants and long-sleeve shirt
  • gloves
  • lawn equipment (mowers, rakes, hoes, etc)
  • wheelbarrow
  • pry bars
  • saw-zaw
  • hammers/tools/etc.
  • trash sacks
  • a great attitude

Forecast for tomorrow’s work party: 77 degrees, 0% chance of rain, and 100% chance of service and ministry. See you there!

This is the first picture we took. The trees were so grown up you couldn’t see the house.

T&J Willis Equipment came out and knocked down the garage for us.

A few of us showed up today to do some tree work. We wanted to start them early so we didn’t drop BIG limbs on people trying to work in the yard.

    That’s WONDERFUL, Trey!!

Not sure which is more awesome: What y’all are doing for another human being, or what y’all are doing to save an old house. I’m thinking both are pretty cool.

Ang, we got a letter from a woman who grew up in that house. Pretty incredible the memories she talked about. She was so happy that new memories were going to be made in that house now.

    VEry Cool,

but ya better add a First Aid kit, too your list, just in case! 😉

  4. Joe says:

Mr. Safety here – you might not need that first aid kit if you’ll add safety glasses to your list (I can send you a box if you need them – they are left-over from the box I sent to Honduras, but no one used them there either – y’all are killing me over here) :=)

    Oh – and that “saw-zaw” – would that be the same as a “sawz-all” – just askin’…

Seriously – this is an AWESOME idea. Very cool, indeed. Prayers for your success.

Joe, Loved the comment. Made me smile. I would guess a “sawz-all” and a “saw-zaw” are the same thing, but referred to differently by crazy preachers. :)

As for safety glasses, we’d use them if you’d send them. As for safety glasses in Honduras … I doubt they’ll get used. :)

    What a great story.
