11 Ways To Turn On A Woman

Of course chocolate NEVER hurts. :)

Every time I see an Old Spice commercial (like this one), an Axe hair-gel commercial or a TAG body-spray commercial, I just shake my head.  According to the commercials, if you just use these products, women will be uncontrollably attracted to you sexually.  Now men, I’ll be the first to admit, it is important to your wife that you smell good, BUT a quick shot of TAG body-spray is not going to make her jump you in the grocery store.

That got me to thinking about things that really turn a woman on. First thing husbands need to understand when it comes to sex is that men are like a microwave and women are more like a slow-cooker … meaning she needs you to start the romance early in the day. Husbands, notice the list below … all these things start BEFORE bedtime. MEANING if you just wait for bedtime to get “romantic” … you’re probably too late!  The commercials may say Tag body-spray is the way to go, but my money is on these…

  1. Give your wife a back or foot rub, no strings attached.
  2. Cook dinner one night and clean up the kitchen when you’re done.
  3. Buy her a gift certificate for a manicure, pedicure or massage … for no reason at all.
  4. Help pick up and clean the house, or help the kids with their homework.
  5. Cool it with the criticism. Instead praise her publicly and/or privately. Tell her how beautiful she looks.
  6. Stay home with the kids and let her get out of the house by herself. Or take the kids out of the house and let her stay home by herself, her preference.
  7. Do a chore for her that she doesn’t like to do.
  8. Surprise her with her favorite candy, and don’t make a wise crack about the calories.
  9. Call her from work just to say hello.
  10. Tell your wife you get turned on just thinking about her.
  11. Take her on a weekly date.

So, wives … can you add some more I’ve missed?

  1. That Girl says:

I still say there is nothing sexier than a man with a dust rag and a vacuum!

  2. I’ve been dying to say this in some public way for some time… I’ve seen television shows, radio programs and articles touting studies stating that high on the list of ‘turn-ons’ for wives is husbands doing housework. I just don’t get it. Family teamwork around the house, yes but my husband standing at the sink doing dishes doesn’t do it for me. My guy calls me for lunch a few times a week, and recognizes when I’ve had a tough day to give me a break but my favorite ways are those things he did for me when we dated…a spontaneous call to go to the movies or to take a drive – just the two of us…. Nope, a rag in hand isn’t too sexy in my book – doesn’t cut it like a quiet drive or a walk on a nearby trail or a box of popcorn between us! ~ blessings!

      Carmel …

Every woman is different in what floats her boat. The key is always making sure your spouse knows what it is. :)

      Thanks for the wisdom.

      • You know, I re-read my post and I think I kinda sound snarky… so sorry… I agree what does it for one may be different for another. : ) All ways do point to attention being given…and that’s always love!

  3. Dee says:

Many years ago I heard a female comedian say, “Men, what’s the one thing you tell us every time we get ready to start the car? You remind us we should never rev a cold engine. Men clearly understand this concept – so why do some of you insist on trying to rev a woman’s engine without warming her up first?”

I remembered this because it made me chuckle when I heard it. Thought I’d share it since it relates to the topic.

Maybe I could print this out and casually leave it sitting on my husband’s pillow. ;) Especially the part about no strings attached. A feeling of obligation usually comes with a back rub so I don’t ask anymore.

  5. Ed says:

Great list Try….but I’d prefer saving money and giving her a massage myself. :)

  6. This old lady loves you Trey! :-)

  7. Marcie says:

I like it when my husband dresses to attract me. Nothing sexier than a crisp pink oxford shirt on a man who wears it because he knows I like it. Gives me that little personal smile all day because I know it’s for me.

    I got one!

making sure the Lid is dowm, goes a longways! ;)

  9. “5.Cool it with the criticism.”

That is a BIG one. Most (probably all) of the counseling I do involves this one. Just cutting this one out will improve many marriages in a huge way.

    Good post.

And congrats on getting to be a keynoter at RRFE in 2013!
